This year's count will run from the 16th July to the 8th August.
The Big Butterfly Count is a UK-wide survey, run by Butterfly Conservation, which helps to assess the health of our environment by simply counting the amount and type of butterflies we see.
1. Download the butterfly identification chart or the free Big Butterfly Count app.
2. Pick a spot from which to sit and watch for any butterflies and moths for 15 minutes.
3. Record which species you see and how many of them.
4. Submit your findings here.
