In the event of the base not being suitable, our installers will stack the building at your property, at which point a re-visit charge of £175 will be applied. 4 - What access do you need?

Good access is required to deliver and install your cabin. The material to build your Northern Log Cabins Ltd building can be quite bulky, so please move away any garden furniture, cars, caravans and anything else that might be in the way of Northern Log Cabins Ltd gaining access to your garden.

The Northern Log Cabins fitters are restricted by Health and Safety regulations, so please let us know about anything that may cause concern, so that plans can be made to resolve any delivery issues (for example poor access or steps). Under no circumstances will any component be lifted over garage roofs, fences or hedges.

Please also note that the majority of Northern Cabins Ltd buildings will not fit through a standard house door. If the fitters are unable to deliver your building and need to return at a later date due to access issues, a revisit charge of £175 will be charged.

If the site does have limited access or issues with parking, then please let us know when ordering so we can inform Northern Log Cabins Ltd. In addition, please be aware that a carry of over 50 metres from the delivery vehicles may lead to a surcharge from Northern Cabins.

This is possible as each building is made to order. However, our staff will have to contact Northern Log Cabins Ltd to get a quote for anything over and above what is in the brochure.

7 - What should I treat my building with?

Your building is untreated and we advise it will need treatment as soon as you have had it fitted. Over the building’s lifetime, it is advised that you regularly treat the wood. Please ask at the Fencing Centre for advice on what you can treat your building with. We can order most products in the Osmo or Protek range of products. We can also organise one of our approved contractors, who specialises in spray painting cabins, to give you a quote for painting your cabin if you wish.

8 - What is the cabin made from?

They are manufactured from slow grown Spruce, ethically sourced from Finland. Wood is a natural product, and some changes may occur over time – i.e. shrinkage and cracks. Many of these issues are beyond our control and can be down to weather conditions and the location of the building.

9 - Can my cabin be insulated?

You have the option of no insulation or 25mm, 50mm or 100mm insulation is usually PIR Kingspan, Celotex or Rockwool. Please be aware that this will then affect the internal measurements of the cabin.

10 - Do you need planning permission?

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that any necessary planning permissions are given for the size and installation of the building offered. Northern Log Cabins Ltd can give you advice on planning permission, but we would always advise that you check with your local council before placing an order if you are unsure on whether permission is needed.

11 - Can I have a bespoke cabin made?

This is possible, but we would send your details to Northern Log Cabin Ltd, who would contact you to discuss with you exactly what your requirements are.

All buildings are guaranteed by Northern Log Cabins Ltd for 3 years following the date of delivery, except for the roofing felt, and as long as the building has been correctly treated. This is on the condition that the cabin has been correctly treated and had regular maintenance carried out on it. Northern Log Cabins Ltd and/or Earnshaw’s cannot be held responsible for any storm / wind damage caused to a building. We always do our best to help if there is an issue but any repairs due to weather damage or circumstances outside our control will be the responsibility of the customer to cover the costs.

13 - Who do I pay the deposit to?

A representative of Northern Log Cabins Ltd will contact you and will arrange to send over a full CAD drawing of your building. You will then sign off the CAD drawing. Northern Log Cabins Ltd will then organise the build of your cabin. The usual delivery times are between 8-10 weeks. Once a delivery date has been confirmed, Northern Log Cabins Ltd will contact you for the outstanding balance and organise a delivery date with you.

15 - When do I pay the balance?

After paying your deposit to Earnshaw’s Fencing Centres, the balance for your Northern Log Cabins building is due prior to delivery and they will contact you for the final payments. Payment to Northern Log Cabins Ltd will be by bank transfer.

16 - When will my cabin be delivered?

On placing the order, Job Earnshaw and Bros Ltd will give an approximate number of weeks for the delivery of the cabin. However, please note this is subject to change, and Northern Cabins will contact you with an accurate delivery date.

Northern Log Cabins Ltd will contact you if there are any issues with your delivery date, as they may need to change the date due to circumstances beyond their control – in particularly bad weather please ensure that we have the correct mobile number on your order form. We would also advise that you check your phone for any calls or messages that may be left for you.

17 - Will the weather affect my cabin build?

Northern Log Cabins Ltd fitters do not mind getting wet, but inclement weather leads to dirty materials, muddy floors and wet roofs underneath the felt. As a result, on occasion the Northern Cabins fitters may have to postpone your delivery, but they will keep you informed of the situation if this is the case.

18 - What happens on the build day?

Northern Log Cabins Ltd fitters do not need any help during the build, but they would prefer for someone to be on site to confirm the exact positioning of the building before they start. We would also suggest that you inspect the building before the fitters leave. On the rare occasion that a snagging issue has arisen, it is easier for them to sort it there and then, rather than arrange another visit.
