We stepped in last-minute to host their Halloween fundraiser!
Last Thursday morning, Wakefield Hospice phoned us with an urgent appeal for help. The original venue they had planned to host their Halloween fundraising event, Pugneys Country Park, was unable to facilitate the event because recent heavy rain had flooded the car park!
We had a meeting with them Thursday lunchtime, and we were deighted to be able to step in and provide a new haunt to save the event!
On Saturday, after only 48 hours’ notice, we welcomed almost 500 people to our Midgley Centre!
The event itself consisted of a spooky Halloween trail through our woodland walk, which was adorned with haunting Halloween décor – our fairies and pixies certainly had a very busy night!
We also played host to some scary face painting and had a spooky selfie board decorated with skeletons – the whole Earnshaws playhouse area was illuminated with ghostly lights!
The Little Acorn coffee stop, our vintage horse box conversion, helped to provide catering alongside Munchies Hot Food!
After the event, Head of Human Resources Lynda Earnshaw said – “We thought the event was absolutely brilliant, we were so pleased to be able to step in at such short notice to ensure this vital fundraising event could go ahead.”
We still have some Pumpkins left from the event – all we ask is for a small donation to Wakefield Hospice!
